Clare LeMay

I trained as an Audio Describer with VocalEyes, and since 1999 I have been writing, and delivering Audio Description for theatre shows, galleries, museums and heritage sites, either live, or recorded. I also train staff at venues, exploring how to make their building and collections accessible to blind and partially sighted visitors, as well as providing editorial support so that they can deliver their own Audio Descriptions in house. I was the in-house script editor for Vocaleyes for ten years, working with other describers to produce Audio Introductions for theatre shows. I also act as a consultant for venues, advising on accessibility for visually impaired visitors. I also do screen Audio Description, either mainstream films and video, or for AV installations in museums and galleries. I have worked with venues like the British Libary, training staff on accessible film making.
