Sound Without Sight

Sound Without Sight is a community-driven online hub that connects blind and partially sighted musicians and industry professionals with each other and the wider sector.

As well as facilitating peer support among this community, we aspire to become the “one front door” for information related to music and visual accessibility. Our Knowledge Hub collates useful information from around the sector in a single searchable resource, and allows users to contribute to fill in gaps.

We also offer organisations the opportunity to reach out to our community for feedback on how they can develop their services to be more inclusive.

The project showcases blind and partially sighted musicians, their workflows, and the solutions that they have found throughout their work. Through online forums and regular virtual Meet-ups, the project fosters a supportive environment for blind and partially sighted musicians to learn from their peers and develop confidently, whether that be during education, into employment, or for leisure.
