Accessible by Design
We help make digital experiences more accessible
for everyone.
We work with arts and cultural organisations to ensure an equitable, enjoyable and easy website experience for everybody.
Accessibility audits
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines offer a set of principles and standards that allow a structured approach to assessing the accessibility of your digital content.
If your website meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2. (WCAG) it’s likely it will work for many more users across a variety of different devices.
There are numerous other standards, many of which reference WCAG 2.2. These include EN 301 549, Section 508 and other accessibility standards.
Our approach to auditing uses a mix of automated and manual testing. This ensures we identify the potential 70% of issues that automated scanning cannot find.
We’ll work together to
– identify accessibility issues
– put together an actionable, prioritised issue log based on impact to your users
– verify that any fixes have solved the problem
– produce a summary report for stakeholders who don’t need the detail of an issue log
Inclusive usability testing
Your website can meet WCAG standards while still presenting usability issues. By testing with real people, you can uncover any usability issues in the structure, design or content of your website.
We can recruit users with a range of accessibility requirements to conduct usability testing on your website by completing a series of common tasks and scenarios.
Research and focus groups
The best way to understand your audiences needs is to ask them. We work with organisations to design inclusive studies and focus groups to identify opportunities to improve your audiences’ experience.
We’ll recruit participants from our own network, or from your audience groups and arrange any access services such as British Sign Language, Captioning or scheduling time with support workers as needed.
Accessibility training
We create bespoke training packages depending on your needs.
Past training sessions have included an Introduction to Digital Accessibility, Accessible Social Media, Accessibility Content Creation and Testing for Accessibility.
