Test it with deaf sign language users to ensure meaning and clarity. People using SSE will follow English word order and add signs to help with understanding. SSE is not the same as BSL, as it does not have its own grammar and structure. It doesn\u2019t support full communication with BSL users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span data-definition=\"makaton\" data-definition-id=\"4415\" title=\"Makaton\" data-definition-name=\"Makaton\" class=\"ace-definition-inserter\"><\/span> is a communication system that uses signs and symbols along with speech to aid communication. It is used by some people with communication differences or learning disabilities. Makaton signs are different from BSL and from <span data-definition=\"irish-sign-language\" data-definition-id=\"4318\" title=\"Irish Sign Language\" data-definition-name=\"Irish Sign Language\" class=\"ace-definition-inserter\"><\/span> signs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are also equivalent sign languages to BSL or ISL from different parts of the world, such as American Sign Language (ASL), Auslan (Australian Sign Language) or German Sign Language (DGS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Providing information in these forms of sign language does not replace offering information in British or Irish Sign Language, as users of one sign language may not understand another.
